The main mission of the local history museum is to serve the society, to contribute to the preservation and replenishment of the historical and cultural heritage of the region.
Main activity:
- collection of funds;
- study of materials related to the history of the region;
- organization of expeditions, research aimed at identifying and collecting museum objects and promoting them;
- organization of scientific and educational work promoting the history and culture of the region;
- providing methodological assistance to general education schools;
- creating expositions and exhibitions;
- provision of paid services.
Research and collecting activitiesconsist in collecting materials on local history topics: “Deportation of peoples to Kazakhstan”, “The creative path of B. Mailin”, “Noble people of the region”, etc. The museum funds are replenished with exhibits during direct collection during visiting expeditions and when working with the population, by purchasing from legal entities and individuals (for example: artworks of painting, applied art, jewelry of the Kazakh people) and without paid transfer by citizens as a gift to the museum (for example: awards, documents, photographs, individual items).
The received materials are described, systematized and stored for further use for scientific purposes, educational activities and for display at exhibitions and expositions in the museum.
Exposition and exhibition activity develops mainly on the basis of fund collections, and consists in the preparation of exhibitions of various thematic focus: ethnographic, historical and other thematic.
Cultural and educational activities are one of the important directions in the work of the museum. Much attention is paid to mass work, since today the museum is not only a scientific, but also a leisure center. The institution offers various forms of work with visitors – excursions, lectures, conversations, slide films, competitions, quizzes, museum lessons and educational hours, festive and ritual museum events.
