On March 22, for the district-wide celebration of Nauryz, employees of the local history museum and other organizations of the region for residents of the village. Ayet organized an ethnographic festival in a yurt town in the central square of the village. Each yurt bears the name of an outstanding personality of Kazakhstan. Our yurt is named in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union Seytkhan Temirbaev. At the beginning of the event, guests and residents were introduced to a range of subjects consisting of documents from Seytkhan Temirbaev, a native of our region. Also, during the presentation of the exhibition, residents listened attentively to the story about the biographical data of the Hero, his exploits on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, life after the Victory on the topic: “Our fellow countryman Seytkhan Temirbayev.” His memory is immortalized not only in the funds and exhibition of the museum, but also in the name of the street in the regional center and in the bust installed on the territory near the mosque. Next, the guests’ attention was addressed to household items of the Kazakh people, which were actively used earlier during the nomadic lifestyle, and are also used now. Among the exhibited objects are tobaccos, torsyks, shara, kespe, saptayak, ozhau, korpeshe and many others. It is worth noting that thanks to these items, it was possible to create a unique atmosphere of comfort in the yurt – the traditional home of the nomadic people. At the end of the presentation of the yurt, the guests were shown the ritual of the Kazakh people “Syrga salu” with the participation of employees of various organizations in the region. Syrga-salu is a Kazakh wedding custom that has survived to this day. Literally, “Syrga-salu” is translated as “put on earrings.” According to Kazakh customs, the beginning of all pre-wedding activities begins with this ritual, which is held in the girl’s house, and only after this can other events, such as kyz-uzat and wedding, be organized. The meaning of this tradition comes from the times of the Kazakh Khanate, only instead of gold earrings, girls wore feathers on their headdress! This sign showed the guys which of the girls was already married and which was single! To be more precise, this custom can be called matchmaking, but instead of a ring, the bride wears gold earrings! This should be done by the groom’s mother, then the girl is already considered the official bride! Only after these actions the couple is considered engaged. The holiday ended with guests being treated to various dishes and a photo zone located in a yurt.
