The yurt, as an attribute of the master class within the framework of the local history club “Kainar” “Kazakh yurt – the dwelling of a nomad,” was not chosen by chance, since very soon our country will celebrate the most long-awaited spring holiday, Nauryz, where it is considered the main symbol.

In the process of work, sculpture teacher Nazarova A.Yu. KSU “Children’s Art School of the Education Department of the Beimbeta Mailina District” told the children of the preparatory group that the prototype of the Kazakh dwellings were the huts of primitive people, and later the tents of nomads. And the yurts known today were formed about a thousand years ago.

The children also learned that the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage includes the art of performing Kazakh kyuis on the dombra and the skills of making Kazakh and Kyrgyz yurts. This is the first time that nominations from Kazakhstan have been included in the list of intangible cultural heritage.

The circle members themselves shared their knowledge. While assembling the yurt, the guys told us what it was made of and the names of its constituent elements. Particular attention was paid to the shanyrak, which serves as the pinnacle of the home and a symbol of family well-being, peace and tranquility.

The process of assembling a real yurt usually takes one hour, but assembling our yurt from air plasticine took the guys a little longer, but it was worth it! The yurt turned out to be large, light and beautiful.
