On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, it is important to remember the heroism of Kazakhstanis, Heroes of the Soviet Union, who courageously defended their Homeland. One of them was Sultan Birzhanovich Baymagambetov, who accomplished a feat that is forever inscribed in history. For students of secondary schools named after B. Mailin and Sapar Yergaliev, the museum staff living in the “DVP“ Daryn held a lecture dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of Sultan Baymagambetov. Sultan Baymagambetov was born on February 21, 1920 in the village of Koyandy–Agash in a peasant family. During the Great Patriotic War, he fought at the front, showing exceptional courage. In the battle, the advance of our soldiers was stopped by machine gun fire from the enemy bunker. The brave warrior crawled up to the firing point and threw grenades at it. But the machine gun did not stop. Then he closed the embrasure with his chest. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated February 21, 1944, Senior Sergeant Sultan Birzhanovich Baymagambetov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously for his exemplary performance of command tasks and his courage and heroism in battles with the Nazi invaders. The memory of people like Sultan Baymagambetov should live in the hearts of future generations, inspiring them to love their Homeland, courage and patriotism.
