On January 29, the museum staff held a lecture for students of grades 8-9 at the Sapar Ergaliev Secondary School. During the lecture, the audience learned about the life of E. Umurzakov, his acting activities in the field of drama and cinema, his main roles and public services. Yelubai Umurzakov entered the history of Kazakh cinema primarily as a performer of the role of Amangeldy Imanov in the legendary film Amangeldy, shot by Leningrad cinematographers in 1938. Later, he starred in more than 20 films, including: Songs of Abai, Dzhambul, Daughter of the Steppes, Beardless Deceiver and others. In 1966, for the main role in the film Land of the Fathers, the actor was awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR. Eleubai Umurzakov worked at the Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater named after M.Auezov until the end of his bright creative life. In total, he played more than 150 significant roles.
