On July 12, the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore organized a photo-documentary exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the formation of the fire department “On Guard of Fire”. The exhibition presents photographic materials and documents of Leonid Petrovich Telyatnikov, Hero of the Soviet Union, a firefighter who led his unit and personally took part in extinguishing a fire at the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear power Plant, while receiving a huge dose of radiation. There is also a photo-documentary complex of Yesenamanov Polatbek, who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident, and general information about the events of April 26, 1986 and the scale of the disaster. Thanks to this exhibition, the villagers have a great opportunity to plunge into the world of fire protection, its history and modernity, to get acquainted with the difficult and courageous profession of firefighters.
