For many years, postal communication has played a vital role in society by facilitating the exchange of information and keeping people connected. As the country developed, technologies evolved and the array of postal services expanded; however, the work of postal employees remains in high demand in both cities and remote rural communities.
The exhibition “An Important Profession — Postman!” introduces visitors to the history and development of Kazakhstan’s postal service, the operations of Kazpost, and the work of the district postal node in the Beimbet Mailin District. In 1993, an independent state postal service was established in Kazakhstan, marking the beginning of the national postal system’s development. While the primary scope of postal work previously centered around delivering correspondence and parcels, paying pensions, and processing money transfers, today the list of services has grown significantly. It now includes issuing and servicing payment cards, processing utility bill payments, delivering pensions and benefits, offering loan services, selling airline and railway tickets, and providing select public service center (PSC) functions. Five automated rural postal branches operate in the district, ensuring access to postal and financial services for residents of local communities.
Special focus is given to the postman’s profession, which demands responsibility, attentiveness, and dedication. The exhibition aims to preserve the history of postal services and foster a respectful attitude toward the work of postal employees, whose daily efforts help maintain connections between individuals and organizations.
