On October 14 of this year, the B. Mailin Museum of History and Local Lore organized a commemorative evening titled “The Great Mentor of Life” for students of the S. Yergaliyev School, dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Kazakh enlightener, educator, and writer Ybyrai Altynsarin.

During the event, students learned about the key stages of Ybyrai Altynsarin’s life and work, his contribution to the development of education in Kazakhstan, and his literary works of great educational value. Special attention was paid to the stories “Father and Son” (“Әке мен бала“) and “The Rich Man’s Son and the Poor Man’s Son” (“Бай баласы мен жарлы баласы“), which convey the importance of hard work, self-reliance, resourcefulness, and responsibility. The students also answered quiz questions focused on the life and literary heritage of the great educator.
