On October 16 of this year, the B. Mailin Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a historical quiz titled “Along the Path of Independence” for students of the S. Yergaliyev School, aimed at expanding students’ knowledge of the history of independent Kazakhstan.
During the event, students learned about the history of Kazakhstan gaining independence, the significance of the December events of 1986, the adoption of state symbols, the introduction of the national currency (tenge), and the development of the country’s international relations. Special attention was paid to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the rights and responsibilities of citizens. In a Q&A format, students tested their knowledge of historical events and state symbols, and in the final round titled “Think and Find!”, they completed proverbs and sayings about the Motherland, native land, and national unity.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was emphasized that independence is the greatest value and common treasure of the people of Kazakhstan. Preserving historical memory, respecting state symbols, and striving for knowledge help educate a young generation ready to contribute to the future of the country.
