On April 3 of this year, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore organized a lecture “Life given to the sky”, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Lieutenant General of Aviation, Honored Military Pilot of the USSR Gvozdenko Nikolai Prokopyevich.
During the event, the students got acquainted with the life and professional path of an outstanding pilot, a native of Taranovsky district. His childhood was spent during the difficult war years, after which he connected his life with aviation, graduated from the Tashkent Flight School and devoted himself to military service.
The students were told about his service in aviation, work as a test pilot, participation in jet aircraft tests and further teamwork in the air defense system. For his high professionalism and services to the state, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Military Pilot of the USSR. His life became an example of courage, perseverance and dedication to his work.
The lecture allowed the students to learn more about the life and service of an outstanding countryman, as well as about the development of military aviation and the country’s air defense system.
