On the eve of the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression for cultural workers and the Council of Veterans at the Museum of Local Lore.
Mailin had a memory lesson called “Shadows of the past – in the memory of the people.“ During the event, the guests were introduced to the history of the “Victims of Political Repression“ from the 1930s to the 1950s, told in detail about prominent public figures of that time, as well as about people who were subjected to repression living in the district of Beimbet Mailin. During the event, they honored the memory of the victims with a standing minute of silence, and then showed a video clip of the memories of those who live in the village of Ayet today.
The memory lesson became an important event, reminding of the tragic pages of the country‘s history and the need to remember and respect the memory of victims of political repression. It was a chance not only to learn about the past, but also to reflect on their responsibility to preserve peace and justice in the future.
