On July 24 of this year, the B. Mailin Historical and Local Lore Museum hosted a thematic hour titled “Bread on the Table – Gratitude to the Soul” for children attending the summer day camp at the B. Mailin School, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the bakery products system.
During the event, the children learned about the history of the state bakery products system, its role in providing the population with grain and bread, as well as Kazakhstan’s importance as one of the largest producers of high-quality wheat.
Special attention was paid to the journey of bread — from soil preparation and sowing seeds to baking the final product. The children traced all stages of bread production, discovered the professions of people who work daily to ensure bread is on every table, and understood why this product has always been treated with deep respect.
In the interactive part of the event, the children assembled a thematic chain titled “The Journey of Bread,” answered quiz questions, completed famous proverbs about bread, and discovered interesting facts about grain and bread making.
The event fostered a respectful attitude toward bread, an understanding of the value of hard work done by agricultural and baking industry workers, and taught care for one of the main symbols of abundance and well-being.
