On May 18 of this year, the B. Mailin Historical and Local Lore Museum held an interactive tour “Secrets of the Museum by the Light of Lanterns” for the 4th grade students of the Krasnoselskaya Secondary School, dedicated to the International Museum Day. On this day, the museum space was immersed in dim light, and the students were guided by the rays of lanterns, the sounds of the reviving exhibits, and the mysterious voices of the past.
The students visited themed stations dedicated to the history and culture of their native region. The special atmosphere was created by the animated characters from the museum’s exhibitions: a woman rocking a baby in the “Yurt” interior to a soft lullaby, Beimbet Mailin in the “Legacy for Future Generations” memorial exhibition, and the image of Alia Moldagulova in the “Victory is Immortal, Its Soldiers Are Immortal” exhibition.
During the tour, the students completed tasks, searched for clues, solved riddles, and learned about the history of the museum, the events of the Great Patriotic War, the development of virgin lands, and the emergence of independent Kazakhstan. The final stop on the tour was the exhibition dedicated to the Varvarinsky deposit.
The interactive tour left a lasting impression on the students, sparking their interest in history and allowing them to see the museum space in a new light, illuminated by lanterns.
