On March 19 of this year, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore organized an ethnographic museum holiday “Kosh keldin, az Nauryz!” for students of the B. Mailin school.                                                                                  The event was aimed at popularizing Kazakh traditions and getting to know the cultural heritage. The students learned about the history of the Nauryz holiday and the decade of Nauryznam, reflecting the key values of the people.

The central part of the event was a demonstration of the “Besikke salu” ceremony. The Besikke Salu ceremony is the traditional laying of a newborn in a cradle, symbolizing caring for the child and wishing him health and a happy life. It is conducted by a respected woman, accompanying the process with blessings and observance of customs, which emphasizes the continuity of generations and the strengthening of family values.

The holiday was accompanied by quizzes, games and an introduction to national traditions, and treats.

The event was held in a warm and festive atmosphere.
