On February 23 of this year, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore conducted a preventive conversation for students on the topic “Vandalism at historical and cultural heritage sites: responsibility and consequences.”

Vandalism of historical and cultural monuments is not just damage to property, but the destruction of our common memory and national heritage. The restoration of such objects requires enormous efforts by restorers, and sometimes lost elements cannot be returned to their original form.

During the meeting, the children were reminded of the importance of observing the rules of behavior in the environment and caring for monuments. It is extremely important for the younger generation to realize that the preservation of history begins with the culture of each of us.

At the end of the conversation, the participants were given information brochures summarizing the rules of monument protection and measures of responsibility for their violation.
