On February 19 of this year, the ethnographic museum holiday “Merry Maslenitsa” was held at the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore, organized for members of the Council of Veterans. The event was held in a warm and sincere atmosphere, uniting the participants around folk traditions and good communication.
The guests were provided with information about the traditions of Shrovetide week, the meaning of each day of Shrovetide week and the symbolism of pancakes as an image of the sun. Over the festive tea party, the guests shared recipes, recalled how they celebrated Shrovetide in their families, recalled proverbs and sayings, and solved riddles.
The event continued with folk games and round dances, which brought joy and good mood to all those present.
The holiday ended with good wishes and words of gratitude to the older generation for preserving traditions and an active lifestyle. The event left the guests with a bright impression and a feeling of approaching spring.
