On February 11 of this year, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore held a thematic hour for students of the S. Ergaliev school on the Day of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan called “Augan ardagerlerin tagzym!”.
The purpose of the event was to honor the memory of the fallen countrymen, to recall the tragic events of the Afghan war, which claimed many lives, crippled fate and left behind widows, orphans and mothers who did not wait for their sons.
On this day, the students expressed their gratitude to those who honorably fulfilled their military duty. During the event, a minute of silence was declared in memory of the fallen internationalist soldiers.
The children learned about the history of the Afghan War, got acquainted with the biographies of fellow countrymen who died in the line of military duty in Afghanistan, and watched a thematic presentation prepared by the museum about the events of those years. The event helped the younger generation to develop a sense of patriotism, respect for the history of their country and the memory of their fellow countrymen. At the end of the meeting, the students shared their impressions and noted the importance of preserving the historical truth about the events of the war years.
