On January 30 of this year, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore organized a subject exhibition entitled “Things from Grandma’s chest”, prepared on the basis of the museum’s stock collections.
The exhibition features elements of traditional women’s clothing, embroidered shirts, shawls, decorative towels and other textiles. A special place is occupied by Kazakh national clothing, reflecting the identity, cut features and ornamental richness of folk culture.
The exhibition is complemented by antique chests, an important element of the interior of the past and a symbol of preserving family memory. Each subject tells about the daily life, labor traditions and artistic taste of our ancestors.
The presented objects create an image of the home space of the past and allow you to feel the atmosphere of life of several generations through everyday objects.
