On October 31 of this year, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore organized a personal, photo–documentary exhibition “Man is famous for his Work”, dedicated to the Year of Working Professions and The 100th anniversary of the birth of the Hero of Socialist Labor Nikolai Grigoryevich Shkabarev.

The exhibition introduces visitors to the life and work of an outstanding countryman who made a significant contribution to the development of agriculture in the Kostanay region.

Nikolai Grigorievich was born on December 25, 1925 in the village of Evgenevka, Taranovsky district. From a young age he worked in agriculture, and during the Great Patriotic War he participated in the protection of the Far Eastern borders of his Homeland, took part in the war with Japan and the liberation of North Korea.

After demobilization in 1949, he returned to his homeland, worked as a driver, combine harvester, mechanic at the state farm “Dievsky”. Thanks to his diligence, professionalism and dedication, he has achieved outstanding success in the production of grain and fodder crops.

For the achieved results and selfless work, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated June 23, 1966, N.G. Shkabarev was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor, he was awarded the Order of Lenin and the gold medal “Hammer and Sickle”.

The name of Nikolai Grigoryevich Shkabarev will forever remain a symbol of labor valor, perseverance and love for his native land.
