Alexey Sergeevich Ilchenko was born on July 5, 1935 in the village of Shcherbinovka, Taranovsky district, Kostanay region. He worked as a driver, motorist and mechanic from 1957 to 1961 at a dairy factory and an incubator station, during the same period he studied by correspondence at the Kostanay Agricultural College specializing in agricultural mechanization. A year later he entered the Tselinograd Agricultural Institute. In 1962, he worked at the Shortandinsky All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Grain Management as a leading engineer in the mechanization department. Since March 1969, he was transferred to teach at the Kostanay branch of the Tselinograd Agricultural Institute, and later worked as the chief specialist of the technical department of the Kostanay State Institute “Kustanay gorselproekt”. Since 1975, he worked in the Taranovsky district as the head of the inspection of the state agricultural supervision of the Taranovsky State Farm Trust, later transferred to the deputy director of the agro-industrial complex Taranovsky. During the period of his work, he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, the Veteran of Labor medals, and jubilee medals.
