On May 8, the staff of the Museum of Local Lore prepared a photo-documentary exhibition “Victory Starry Hour“, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Aliya Moldagulova, Hero of the Soviet Union, legendary sniper during the Great Patriotic War.
Aliya Moldagulova is a Soviet sniper girl of Kazakh origin, a corporal in the 54th separate Rifle Brigade of the 22nd Army of the 2nd Baltic Front. During her service, she killed dozens of enemy soldiers and officers, showing exceptional courage and dedication. Aliya died in battle in January 1944 and was posthumously awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union. The exhibition features unique archival documents, war letters, rare photographs, as well as images of monuments erected in her honor. The exhibition allows visitors to get to know the heroine‘s biography more closely, learn about her military path and feel the atmosphere of those tragic and heroic years.
The exhibition is an important part of the project dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, and is a deep tribute to the memory of Kazakhstani female heroes, whose exploits are forever inscribed in the history of our country and the whole world.
