As part of the exhibition project “Small Motherland in Events and Persons”, museum staff are launching a photo-documentary exhibition entitled “Personalities in the history of the region” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of V. I. Pipchuk. Pipchuk Vasily Ivanovich was born on October 14, 1924 in the village of Asenkritovka, Taranovsky district, now the Beimbeta Mailina district of the Kostanay region. In the Red Army since August 1942. Since May 1943 at the front. He fought in front-line reconnaissance and took part in battles on the Voronezh, South-Western and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. He finished his combat career in Czechoslovakia. Since 1945, as part of the combined regiment of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, he took part in the Victory Parade. In 1947 he graduated from the Ivanovo Military-Political School. He served in the political department of one of the aviation units, in the KGB agencies in Ivanovo, in Vichuga. In 1955 he was transferred to the reserve. Since 1962 he lived in the city of Ivanovo. He worked in correctional labor institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Retired reserve colonel since 1975. Actively participated in public life. He was often published in the regional newspaper, the author of several stories. He was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR. Awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, Order of Glory, 3rd degree, and medals. Died on December 24, 1996. He was buried in the city of Ivanovo at the Balino cemetery.
