Oven fork — is an iron tool to put heavy pots into the oven and take them out. It is an iron curved plate, which is attached to a long wooden stick-handle with a length of 117 cm, so that the housewife can put into the oven and get out of it the pot up to 19 cm in diameter with cabbage soup, porridge, and water.
Usually there were several oven forks in the house, they were of different diameters and with handles of different lengths for large and small pots.
As a rule, only women used oven forks because cooking and everything related to the oven was a woman’s concern.
In some cases, they used it as a weapon to attack and defense.
