Yerzhanov Semenbai Yerzhanovich

Yerzhanov Semenbai Yerzhanovich was born on October 5, 1924 in the village of Simonovka, Denisovsky district. In 1941, at the Viktorovskaya MTS, he graduated from the courses of tractor drivers. In September 1942, the Kostanay regional military enlistment office was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. He fought in the 234, 133 Guards regiments of the First Baltic Front. He participated in the liberation of Lithuania – the cities of Vilnius and Kaunas. He participated in the battles in the East Prussian direction. In 1943, he was sent to the Tyumen Higher Command School, from which he graduated with the rank of second lieutenant.

He continued to serve in the army until 1956.

In 1956, after a letter to Khrushchev, he and his family came to the virgin land. In 1962, he was appointed secretary of the Party Committee of the state farm “Banner of the Soviets”. In August 1972, he was appointed second secretary of the Komsomol district party Committee of the Kostanay region. In 1973, he was appointed to the post of chairman of the Taranovsky district Executive Committee.

During the years of his district leadership a lot was done: a water supply system was built, a powerful boiler house, natural gas was carried out, a sports hall was built in the village of Taranovsky, Secondary vocational schools-21, a hotel, a pharmacy, a police building in Tobol and the district center, a communication center, a bridge over the Tobol River in Novoilinovka village, Tobolsk village school with an 18-apartment residential building. He was repeatedly elected a deputy of the district and regional councils. For the great organizational work carried out on the improvement of the village of Taranovskoye, the executive committee of the village Council awarded Semenbai Yerzhanovich the title of the first honorary citizen of the village of Taranovskoye. In May 1990, Semenbai Yerzhanov was at the Victory Parade in Moscow, where Mikhail Gorbachev handed him a personalized watch.

He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Orders of the Patriotic War, the medals “For the Capture of Konigsberg”, “For Military Merits”, “For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”; for labor achievements – the orders “Badge of Honor”, Friendship of Peoples.

The war veteran died on March 8, 2016.
