On June 22 of this year, for children attending the children’s recreation ground of the B. Mailin school, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore conducted a quest game called “That very first Day of the War”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

During the event, the children were introduced to the tragic events of June 22, 1941, and told about the courage of the defenders of the Brest Fortress, the heroism of the Soviet people, and the significance of Memorial Day. Then, having divided into teams, the children went to the stations, completing thematic tasks dedicated to the history of the Great Patriotic War. They showed ingenuity, attentiveness, dexterity, and the ability to work together, and for successfully completing the challenges, they received letters from which they assembled the word “Victory” at the end of the game.

The quest took place in an exciting and informative atmosphere. The children expanded their knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War, showed resourcefulness, solidarity and respect for the heroic past, once again realizing the importance of preserving the historical memory of the heroic deed of the victorious generation.
