On June 8 of this year, for children attending the children’s recreation area of the B. Mailin school, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore conducted a quiz called “Zhambyl Murasy – urpakka amanat”, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh poet–akyn Zhambyl Zhabayev.
During the quiz, the children got acquainted with the life and creative path of the national poet, learned interesting facts from his biography, about the formation of his talent, participation in aitys and a significant contribution to the development of Kazakh literature and poetic art.
Special attention was paid to Zhambyl’s works, which celebrate patriotism, justice, kindness and love for the Motherland. The children also got acquainted with the history of the creation of the famous poem “Leningraders, my children!”, which became a symbol of spiritual support for the inhabitants of besieged Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War.
As part of the quiz, a blitz survey was conducted on the knowledge of Akin’s biography and work. The children actively answered the questions, demonstrating their erudition and interest in the cultural heritage of the Kazakh people.
