On March 27 of this year, the staff of the B.Mailin Museum of Local Lore organized a photo and documentary exhibition entitled “Zhambyldyn zhuz zhyry – my tagdyr”, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of J.Zhabaeva.

The exhibition is dedicated to the life and creative legacy of the great Kazakh improviser akyn, national poet Zhambyl Zhabayev. The exhibition presents unique photographic documents, archival materials and rare images reflecting different periods of his life — from his youth to the last years of his work.

Zhambyl Zhabayev is one of the key figures of Kazakh poetry, whose work has become a spiritual symbol of the era. His works, imbued with love for the people, celebrate freedom, work, unity and strength of spirit.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with historical photographs of Zhambyl Zhabayev’s meetings with cultural figures and contemporaries, as well as with materials reflecting his role in the development of the oral poetic tradition.

A special place in the exhibition is occupied by documents revealing the poet’s influence on the formation of national literature and his recognition as the “voice of the people”.

The exhibition aims to preserve and pass on to future generations the rich spiritual heritage of the great akyn and highlight his contribution to the cultural history of Kazakhstan.
