On March 22, in honor of the celebration of Nauryz Meiramy, a bright ethnographic festival was held in the village of Ayet in a yurt town on the central square. Each yurt had its own name and thematic design. The museum presents an exhibition of ethnography of the Kazakh people in the yurt called “History and Traditions”.
The guests of the festival were greeted by a festive atmosphere: dombra music and the dance group “Diamonds” were playing, creating a festive mood from the first minutes of the event. The exhibition with the national flavor of the Kazakh people attracted the guests of the holiday. Household items and traditional products reflecting everyday life told about the daily life of the ancestors. The national musical instruments on display, the dombra and kobyz, emphasized the spiritual wealth and culture of the Kazakh people. The artistic focus of the exhibition was the souvenir doll “toybastar”, which vividly conveys the traditions, customs and festive rituals of the Kazakh people.
After viewing the exhibition, the guests witnessed a demonstration of rituals: “Besikke salu”, symbolizing the care and protection of a baby, “Tusau keser” demonstrated the first steps of a child with a blessing for a happy and successful life. The traditions were accompanied by warm words from the elders and a show of cutting the bonds, which gave the holiday a special solemnity.
The holiday ended with a bata “Blessing of the Elders”, in which they wished health, happiness, well-being and success to the whole family.
The event was accompanied by festive trade, national games and a concert program, giving all the guests joy, a sense of unity and contact with the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people.
