On February 27 of this year, the staff of the B. Mailin Museum of Local Lore organized a lecture entitled “Heritage and modernity of Kazakh culture” for students of the S. Ergaliev school.

During the event, students were exposed to the historical origins of Kazakh culture, which was formed on the basis of the traditions of the Saka, Hunnic, Turkic and Kipchak tribes and developed during the formation of the Kazakh Khanate. Special attention was paid to the nomadic worldview, the importance of oral literature, music and traditions.

The contribution of prominent figures such as Abai Kunanbayev and Mukhtar Auezov to the development of the spiritual heritage of the people was also considered, as well as the role of national musical art and the work of Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly was noted.

The event contributed to the formation of students’ respect for cultural heritage and awareness of the continuity of generations.
