Berestin Boris Ivanovich, born in 1937, when his father was arrested, called the present head of the NKVD RO Ladygin “you yourself are a traitor and enemy of the people.”
On July 27, 1937, at the age of 17, he was arrested. In September 1937, he was convicted by the people’s court of the Bulaevsky district of the North Kazakhstan region as the son of an enemy of the people and sentenced to 8 years in prison.
He served time in Kalyma. After 8 years of hard labor in Magadan (6th motor depot), he worked as a balloonist, then at the gold mines of Chelbany. He served another year and a half until further notice, and was released only at the age of 27.
He repeatedly applied to the authorities in connection with the rehabilitation, but the answer was negative, since “the archival file was probably lost and was not found anywhere.” He was married to Evdokia Leontievna Belous, raised four children in marriage.
Since 1953 he lived in the Taranovsky district, with. Taranovskoye, st. Bridge, house 35. For a long time he worked at the Rassvet state farm as a battery operator, from there he went on a well-deserved rest.
In recent years, he lived with his eldest daughter. He died on September 6, 1994, was buried in the village of Taranovskoye.
