On May 31 of this year, on the Day of Commemoration of the Victims of Political Repression, a photo and documentary exhibition entitled “Unread Pages of History“ was organized within the walls of the Museum of Local Lore.
The exhibition features photographic materials telling about families cruelly separated by the mass repressions of the 1930s, when the great terror that began in 1937 swept the whole country. In 1937-1938, tens of thousands of people were subjected to repression, many of whom were shot. People who dreamed of the prosperity of their people, who worked honestly for the benefit of their country, were called “enemies of the people“, accused of “treason to the Motherland“ and sentenced to capital punishment.
The exhibition presents materials stored in the collections of the B. Mailin Museum.
