Klomps are the ancient national shoes of the Dutch and Frisians.

They are wooden shoes with socks slightly pointing upwards. They were used to protect the feet from stones, thorns, dirt, moisture, and richly decorated ones were used as a stylish wardrobe item.

The shoes are made of unbroken piece of poplar with a saw for the foot and external sharpening.

The outside of the сlomps is covered with yellow varnish and a painted pattern on the socks. They have a low thick heel.

At present, clomps have not lost their relevance and are not only an indispensable Dutch souvenir, but also the everyday shoes of many residents of the lowlands.
